This is my ABSOLUTE favorite manga, the story and art are well made. I've probably reread this manga (what exists at least) at least 7 times over. Something this manga does that other manga in this genre don't quite explore properly is the life after a couple gets together and between two ADULTS. It's the little details where two people are figuring out their relationship (bonding through music) that really makes this manga feel so grounded, but also has its funny moments when warranted. I found myself enamoured following the love life of Shizuki Jun and Yano Yukiji, where these two guys who seem the mostincompatible on the outside defy all odds and confront their trials and tribulations together. Most of the characters are likeable and are also well written, having their own motivations that may or may not clash with the protagonists that feel real. Like having a parent who thinks your relationship is a waste of time due to their conservative mindset (which the quirks associated with this is also observed). Or a musician who judges how people play due to their own experience, very characteristic of some musician friends I know.

The attention to detail and how grounded this manga is really made me feel like I was there with them. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, and this story certainly does not shy away from conflict and does it in a natural way. It's satisfying to watch how these life problems get navigated on any scale of time and how hard both members of the couple try to ease the other's problems when they arise while trying to not step on each other but may end up doing it anyways.

It's all wonderfully imperfect and is a great reminder that romantic relationships are not perfect and ideal, but take a lot of hard work, communication, and a little bit of compromise here and there just so the persons understand each other in the end. This manga really embodies that. The inner turmoil that Shizuki and Yano have sometimes are also very relatable.

If you like BL and/or just romance manga in general and are looking for something slightly more mature but don't want to see NSFW (no eggplants in sight), this is THE manga to read. I hope this manga gets an anime adaptation someday, and I would really love to have this manga's entire collection on my bookshelf. I've been recommending this manga to all my friends that were interested in this genre and they seemed to enjoy the story too.

I hope that this review helps you make a decision, and that by choosing to read this manga, I also hope the feeling of joy and contentment I've been blessed by this series is also something you gain from reading too.
