The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior Season 2 · review
Pride is back, and she is absolutely carrying the "Villainess" genre on her back! If you thought Season 1 was emotional, grab your tissues because Season 2 is on a whole other level. Most of these shows get boring once the "bad endings" are avoided, but Last Boss Queen stays top-tier because Pride is still her own worst enemy. She’s so convinced she’s going to turn evil that she works twice as hard to be a saint, and it is honestly so moving to watch. The Characters (The Best Part!) First off, can we talk about Prince Leon? His introduction is exactly what the show needed. Having someonewho doesn’t immediately fall for Pride’s "angelic" act creates so much good tension. And our boys Stale and Arthur? They are growing up so well! Seeing them go from rescued kids to absolute units who would literally burn the world down for Pride is the peak of the show for me. The loyalty in this series feels so earned, not just programmed.
The Story & Stakes
The Hanabusa Kingdom arc is incredible. It’s not just about Pride using "cheat powers" to win; it’s about her navigating the terrifying political world where one wrong move could confirm her as the "villain." You can really feel her anxiety this season. Every time she has one of those "Last Boss" flashes where she looks terrifying, I get chills. Ai Fairouz is killing it as the voice of Pride—she can go from sweet princess to "I will destroy you" in a split second.
Visuals and Music
The animation is definitely holding up, and those fight scenes have a bit more "oomph" this time around. But the Opening Song "Ego"? It’s a total banger. I haven't skipped it once. It perfectly captures that dark, regal vibe that makes this show stand out from the "cutesy" villainess stories.
Final Thoughts
If you’re a fan of strong female leads who are actually competent and a plot that keeps you guessing, you HAVE to watch this. Pride isn't just trying to survive; she’s trying to be a queen her people deserve, and I am here for every single second of it.
Long live the Queen!
