Shuuen no Shiori · review
Spoiler warning
This review may discuss plot details.
I'm making this review as someone who enjoyed it. I believe it is worth a try if you find yourself someone similar to myself. As someone who seriously enjoys dark themes, confusing plots and betrayals. This manga screams as much. If you find yourself the opposite of me, then its not as worth it. In fact, if you often find yourself hating plot holes or predictable characters, avoid this. Personally the themes I enjoyed was the jealousy and betrayals of the characters. Yeah the themes i mentioned are common, but I saw much different then common. It was how unhinged the characters were. My personal opinionson what separates this from others is the creepiness. Not once did i find myself finding the scenes cute, i found it disturbing. I felt anxiety churning in my stomach with every chapter. I found my tears watering at other scenes. I believe if anything, the horror was done right. It's really hard to find a storyline where the horror isn't romanticized. It's just disturbing. The plot was less then unique compared the the characters reactions.
The characters themselves are similar. That might turn many away because we all like uniqueness of characters. Yet despite my similar feelings, i found myself liking them. They all have severe flaws being their main traits. Their obsession was one of the many things that killed them. They were introduced as obsessed but nothing ever changed. they were never good characters, they were a bunch of flawed people together in a game. Together, they did not grow. Together their obsession, their fear and their mistakes lead them to their doom. The characters are so basic at first, that their unhinged actions makes them sick. They are so predictable, predictably disgusting.
To summarize, if you find yourself interested by my review, give it a shot. If you find yourself thinking my review and evidence of enjoying this are stupid, this isn't for you. This manga is the type of manga that you either really like or find it lacking, there doesn't seem to be an in-between.
