7 /10

The first time I read Oyasumi Punpun, I was close to 80 chapter before I realised that it would be a slow burning tragedy. I was too mentally ill and depressed to see the writting on the wall beforehand. That is part of the reason why I regard it sooo highly. Yakedo Shoujo is way more agressively unhinged. I have seen people call it edgy and psychopatic online. I do not agree with that. Yakedo Shoujo displays flawed and realistic characters with very severe trauma. From the first chapter you know, that this will end badly. Why only 7/10 then? Because the depth is lacking, dueto a lack of introspective into Kaname, Shiinta and Kaeda. When Punpun and Aiko makes decision, you have been served the exact amount of precise information to justify these decisions. In Yakedo Shoujo, the storytelling isn't precise enough to bring the reader into Shiinta's mind, so the desire for death provokes a "3edgy5me" from mentally stable readers.
