I've read all the manga; it is pretty mature and realistic. This show shows the ups and downs, bad and good choices made inside a relationship, depicting it realistically. Be advised that if you like those one-dimensional characters and a story where everything is かわいい, it's not your place. I've been searching for something that didn't seem like an "omg a girl I can't speak with her let me have a stroke here just by hearing her voice" and finally this was everything I wanted to read. Enough of high school girls, enough of unrealistic reactions, and enough of characters that exist to OBVIOUSLYpush the story. And last but not least, this author has smooth and enjoyable writing.
