Review of Bakemonogatari
It's been a while since I've left a review. Nevertheless, I'll be leaving one although just briefly. This series, at first for me, was confusing. Maybe it was the art style, it really was the first for me I've seen with that kind of format of transitions & dialogue. It had a different style, per se, much like when I first watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World. But then, it got to me, especially with each episode being as interesting and emotionally impactful as they were. The characters are memorable in the sense that each one is explored quite thoroughly. Of course, with a series like thiswith only a handful of them; and just having background people just LITERALLY be a bunch of background people; it was inevitable. Regardless of the critique, it worked for this series. No doubt.
I think anyone who likes delving into psychological issues such as "inner demons" can find solace in this series and its subjects. Not going into spoilers, but to quote Thor from the Avengers, "I like this one". And this series will stick with me.
