Black Lagoon is not a narrative in the classical sense of the word. It's main selling points is the stylistic choices of both the dialogue, action, character designs, and characters themselves. The plot changes on an episode by episode basis leaving the stunning panache and swagger of the show to be the only trace of genuine consistency you find while progressing. It is very amazing and certainly influential in its style (especially in the english dub). and I would recommend it nonchalantly only to more experienced anime viewers who can appreciate artistic qualities in a show without being bothered by the lack of story.
