Review of School Days

Title: School Days What the Hell Did I Just Watch? I usually didn't even want to write a review because this anime is simply disgusting and a disgrace, but sorry, I have to say something now. The story begins when Makoto Itou observes Kotonoha Katsura on the train. We quickly learn that he is in love with her. Initially, I thought it was going to be a normal love story, but this opinion was quickly and devastatingly crushed. The third person we have is Sekai Saionji, she is a classmate of Makoto and the final main character of this series. So, what is this actually about? While the firstepisodes were meant to bring Makoto and Kotonoha together, this anime completely drifted off from the middle onwards. The sole reason for this is Makoto. He is a lustful, disgusting, and vile person. He lies, cheats, and gropes practically every girl in this show, even in public or at school! After he got together with Kotonoha, the first thing he thought about was sleeping with her!? She, of course, didn't want that as she wanted to take her time. This, of course, didn't bother the lustful Makoto. While he was still with Kotonoha, he started making moves on Sekai. He slept with her multiple times, got her pregnant, and then discarded her like a piece of fruit. Throughout the show, Makoto slept with one girl after another. Kotonoha never broke up with him until the end. I kept asking why? Their love was never particularly strong, and they weren't even together for long. He cheated on her so many times that even I stopped counting after a while.

By the time I reached the 6th or 7th episode, I fast-forwarded most of it, skipping everything that wasn't relevant anymore. I just wanted to finish the series as quickly as possible. At least they managed to get the ending right because Makoto, even probably for the author, got what he deserved in the end. Sekai wasn't entirely innocent either, even though she was just one of the many victims in this show.

In the end, there's a bitter aftertaste of having watched this anime at all. Therefore, I recommend it to no one who is rational, interested in true love between two people, or looking for a beautiful story.

This anime offers absolutely NOTHING. No plot, no character development, no interesting characters, no good animation, or character design.

What's good in this show? Only the ending. That says it all.
