Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai is a beautiful sequel to a beautiful show. A lot of people claim that Kai doesn't live up to the goriness of the original, but with the direction of the story, gore just doesn't fit in. So unless you're going into the show hoping for blood and guts, you wont be disappointed. Story: 10/10 The story in Kai is even more in depth than the original, going through and making sure to tie up every loose end. What Kai lacked in gore, definitely was made up in story. Art: 10/10 The art is once again beautiful, with great animation, quality scenery, andvarying style depending on the seriousness, which I quite enjoyed.

Sound: 10/10
The voice acting was spot on, and the music was on par with the original, albeit without as catchy of an OP.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Despite having put off the series due to length, and then starting and stopping several times due to distractions, I enjoyed Kai even more than the first season.

Overall: 10/10
Kai was a great sequel, and if you watched Higurashi without watching Kai, you're missing out on something wonderful.
