This OVA is an epilogue set one year after the end of the Vifam TV series. Without spoiling anything, it undoes several major plot points and gives closure to the more bittersweet and memorable moments of the television show. It also has a very dramatic tone that fits more in the world of Gundam or Macross than the naturalistic world of Vifam. If you enjoyed the Vifam series you will probably not enjoy this OVA, as it has almost nothing about what made that series special. Despite the writing problems it is decently executed. There are a lot of good character moments between the cast members.Scott gets put through the wringer as usual as he runs cover for the rest of the kids in this story. There is a vague algorithmic quality to this OVA in how it rattles down a list of west coast vacation tropes that were popular in 80s japan. This is evident from the new OP, which features the kids sailboating, rollerskating, and going to the beach in 80s fashions despite the series being set in 2060. The soundtrack is a lot poppier as well, which is fun to listen to but doesn't fit the established vibe of Vifam.
