Review of High School DxD

Lets get down to business: this show is not for those that hate ecchi shows or those that are not a fan of nudity but do not know what ecchi is. Honestly, I give more praise to this show than necessary. This show was the gateway for me during high school. Before that point, I never really saw cartoons or anime(I was still new to the anime world and did not know stuff) that showed off nudity. And here was a show that did that. At first, I was unsettled to see a persons clothes get ripped off, just to see a type of liquidmaterial go over a titty. But after awhile, it grew on me and I started to enjoy. Lets get down to reviewing:
story 7.5/10:
This is my score for the story but since MAL does not do decimals, I rounded up and did an 8. The story started out normal. Some dude and his deadbeat friends fantasizing about getting hot girlfriends. At that point, kinda relatable to those of us that grew up in high school with no distinct features that made us look cool, hot, etc. But, somehow, ya boi Issei, managed to somehow get a date with a cute girl, went on a date, and died. Yep died. Which was a weird thing to see at the time. MC first presented, already killed in first episode. From there he gets reincarnated as a devil by a female that has a club within their school. The entire series mainly involves him going on weird errands, saving other girls from other people, and boosting up. The story itself was did more of a job on interesting ideas or concepts rather than give us a very great story about the MC. It was interesting to learn of Angels,Devils, and Fallen Angels with unique Sacred Gears( a type of equipment with differing powers).
Art 8/10
The art was very.....round, if you might know what I mean. The visuals were very sharp and nice to watch. But, you could tell that since this was an ecchi show, most of the budget went into tits and ass. As I said, if you are not a fan of ecchi, do not watch.
Sound 6/10:
I was not a fan of the sound. Specifically the OP/ED. I just did not really care for the music. It did not place a burning fire in me like the Naruto OPs or made me sing along like in horrible Japanese like Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood OP.
Character 8/10:
As I stated before, Issei is just a reflection of those of us that never had the chance of getting a cute girlfriend in high school. But, his personality also shows off his perversion for really liking a womans boobs. Many of the other characters do not really develop their own personality till other seasons. so this season mainly develops him, his club president Rias, thats about it. He does encounter people like Asia where he shows off his nice side to go out and save them from other individuals. This shows that the character, despite perverted, wants to help others.
Enjoyment: 8/10
I found this show to be comedic and relatable. Jus this high schooler obsessed with boobs and unlocking incredible power to stop those that stand between him and his boobs. I think there are those that enjoyed seeing borderline hentai but for me, I laughed and cringed at what the character did. I was hooked and could not let go of the series. I will say that this show made me give it an extra point because of nostalgia. So, I give this show an 8/10.
