No Gyaru in This Class · review
This manga is the very definition of “sunshine and rainbows”, and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s so adorable and wholesome that you’ll often feel a complete cuteness overload while reading it. The characters are incredibly kind, pure, and innocent. The story follows a group of people who were awkward and nerdy back in middle school, but each of them tries to reinvent themselves in high school. Every main character makes their own kind of “debut”, the heroine becomes a gal, the protagonist takes on a delinquent persona, the nerd turns into a prince, and the muscle-head transforms into a quiet, cute princess.Together, this group of four hangs out and has the most charming, lighthearted adventures.
What makes it even more entertaining is how each character tries hard to play the role of their new persona, while their inner thoughts still reflect their true middle-school selves. That contrast is both hilarious and endearing. If you’re into romcoms that deliver pure cuteness and lighthearted fun, I highly recommend this one.
