A wonderful manga that riffs some of its darker elements from Bedserk and Goblin Slayer initially. It then softens its approach and breaks into a nice standard dark fantasy formula. I found the lead characters quest to understand humanity very compelling and it is that story beat that has me hooked. The lengths he is willing to go to in order to understand humanity is fascinating. Initially, the lead is presented as evil but in time it becomes clear that he too is a victim of the holding pattern Edthea is stuck in. I loved the anime so much I simply had to read themanga.
