The Royal Tutor Movie · review
The movie is a warm, lighthearted continuation of the anime that clearly exists for fans rather than newcomers. It reunites Heine with the four princes and introduces two new twin princes, whose contrasting personalities add just enough freshness to keep the story engaging. The tone remains gentle and uplifting, making it an easy, comforting watch. Narratively, the movie feels like an extended episode rather than a major expansion. The plot is simple and occasionally stretched thin, with limited development for Heine and uneven focus among the original princes. Still, character interactions remain charming, and the new additions fit naturally into the group dynamic. Visually, the animation isserviceable but unremarkable, and the use of CGI, especially toward the end can be distracting. The soundtrack, however, is pleasant and suits the movie’s relaxed atmosphere well.
Overall, the movie doesn’t break new ground, but it delivers exactly what fans of the series expect. A modest, feel-good follow-up that’s enjoyable if familiar with the anime, but unlikely to impress beyond that.
