Coming from someone who read hundreds of chapters of RoFan, I'm hella impressed by the economy of this series. There's just two volumes's worth of main story, and yet they manage to cram so much into it in such a clean, orderly way. Add a beautiful art that explores the world really well, and the world feels full even though I'm only reading it for a short while. Now of course, the length means any conspiracy and scheme aren't going to be that developed. But the narrative manages to portray the weight of those schemes, and the ripple effects too. Status quo is changed repeatedly throughthe series, and it's such an enjoyable read.
I do appreciate both main characters. Yes, there's a little bit of ick considering that the uke is married to the seme while the seme was but a child, but they got separated (sadly) pretty quickly so the ickiness ain't that much.
While the uke is your usual self-loathing cold Omega, I appreciate that the story pushes him to care, to lead, to help people around them. The seme in comparison doesn't get that much development once he reappears, but I do enjoy the bonding moments we got both before and after the time skip.
If there's a critique it might be for the side characters. Again, short length means simple schemes means the side characters don't get developed that well. It's a bit unfortunate because the side characters and even the villains are pretty compelling.
