Review of Gushing over Magical Girls

The most common mistake a person can make is to take this anime seriously. Or the manga it's based on. It's not a pervy mahou shoujo anime. It's an ecchi comedy that uses magical girls as a plot device (and a subject of light-hearted parody). It's fun, reckless, silly, somewhat dirty, and somewhat yuri. A perfect palate cleanser after Attack on Titan or some other anime that is explicitly serious, dramatic, and even pretentious. It's a sexualized idiocy with lots of hidden easter eggs for seasoned anime fans. Plus, if you're a yuri fan like yours truly, you may get some bonus fun. The point of thisanime is: don't be too serious. After all, the stupidest things in the world are done with the most solemn faces.
