It's not bad if you take it for what it is. It's enjoyable enough to watch and has great art indeed. Honestly though, the main characters barely feel any closer to one another by the end that one starts questioning the romance tag here. Naturally, the male main character is a spineless water-skin who, even when it comes to his own trade, art, is completely hopeless at interacting with the popular girl; and, as for her, she's intense and probably number one reason for people to have dropped this anime. It's understandable—watching these teasings, which, by the way, vary from meaninglesshewing to earnestly evil things, isn't all fun. It makes sense, doesn't it? I don't know.
