Review of Horimiya

Alright I'm just going to start off questioning why this show isn't getting very good reviews. I could be saying this because I haven't watched every single romance anime but for a show that is just purely romance/slice of life, about people falling in love and enjoying life and such I highly enjoyed it. Ill start off by saying I didn't give the story a very good score because there wasn't really a story to be honest it's more of just characters being lovey and casual life living and that's fine. With the art of the anime and the animation overall it was 100% a 10/10 andI feel most people would agree whether they like the show or not because all of the animation was super smooth. The colors just pop out and can easily represent every character. There were some scenes where it was wide-screen and it just looked super professional in quality and it was a present for anyone's eyes.

The sound again will be a 10 because the music and the ambient music really fit in with whatever was going on. Whether it was drama, or shocking reveals, or just people being happy enjoying school life the sound always fit right in where it belonged.

Now obviously not every character in the show is likeable because there is at LEAST 2 characters that I couldn't stand throughout the show. Aside from those few characters I disliked I really enjoyed the majority of them, especially the 2 main characters (hence the name of the show).

I also would like to point out that a VERY huge thing that I noticed while watching. I usually don't care for "misunderstandings" or in other words cliche misunderstandings like "Oh, that never happened, I think you must've misheard me or saw it in a bad way" then characters never talk again because of a misunderstanding. The reason I mention this is because this show has a very roundabout way to represent misunderstandings and it makes me happy to watch and every single episode I just end with a relief sigh because watching it always made me feel so good.

I really feel like people should give this show a chance because for me it was definitely unique compared to the other romance shows I've seen. The comedic and heartwarming moments are definitely a great reason to watch.
