Review of Horimiya
I really loved Horimiya! I felt like the season was consistent with it's slice of life vibe, which felt very real and genuine. I enjoyed the humour, as it always felt casual and realistic and gave me a good laugh at appropriate times. I felt that this was well balanced with the more sensitive and emotional moments of the season, which created quality episodes. However I found that I enjoyed the first half of the season more, as by that point the focus started shifting away from Hori and Miyamura, which was frustrating because I was invested in them and wanted to see more oftheir relationship! The plus side of this is that it allowed episodes to be focused on other characters that made up the group that Hori/Miyamura were a part of, and gave them a voice, perspective, and history. I feel like this isn't often done, and I appreciate the different strategy taken to tell the whole story. Definitely makes me want to read the manga in order to get a fuller picture of the parts of the story that were missed in this cute anime. Not perfect but definitely a good chill anime to invest some time into.
