Review of Blue Period

One of those shows which make you feel like picking up a new hobby. From this quite simple script arises an uplifting story that will leave you slightly sad it's over in only twelve episodes, but at the same time happy you to got to experience that much in the first place. It's not perfect. Certain elements could have been flashed out a bit better. Characters could have been a bit more rounded and with better depth and emotion. But overall it's an entertaining show about a guy who stumbles upon his passion, quite literally, for art and painting. There's not much to spoil since storyis quite simple. It is, however, well worth the watch even though it will feel a bit too dramatic at moments and perhaps slightly lacking of a better ending. Barakamon is still a better experience, but the two share a lot of similarities.
