It warms my heart that Love is War got a satisfying conclusion. While this season does leave room for more plot and the manga goes on the show can at least rest with some degree of a conclusion. Love is War has gone on for three seasons now and its starting to show. On one hand its characters are developing, and the production has gotten more daring in its visuals but it's also leaning into callbacks from previous jokes and recycling old material. This season outshines the previous two in its dramatic material. Instead of being just another over the top gag show witha romantic theme Love is War takes its romance seriously. It's genuine and vulnerable and builds to a powerful conclusion that honors all the time spent watching the show. The characters aren't particularly complicated or deep and the show has little of substance to say but when it's executed as well as it is it doesn't really need to.

8/10
