Normally, I would make fun of awful cgi in low budget anime. But the way they cut corners in this anime made me root for the studio even more. They made it work with what little they had. Especially for the monsters. For example, they had that one skeleton model and duplicated it into a whole army. They had one close-up shot of decently animated skeleton "roaring". And they reused the same footage multiple times throughout the show. They couldn't even try to make the 3d models blend with background or 2d characters. The 2d and 3d elements having completely different frame rates was hilarious to watch. While the3d models are awful, they did their best with 2d animation for the characters. Outside of action scenes, the characters' small movements are well-animated. I said they did their best, because there are quite a lot of action scenes where they just put a still image and shake the camera or add that "anime zoom" effect thing.

So, while you may think this anime should've looked better, I believe that it could've been a lot worse.
This anime doesn't exactly look better than most low budget generic isekai out there. But they tried.
It's just that the Studio wasn't Level 99. Let's just hope they survive until they get there.
