Review of ReLIFE
Story; 8/10. I loved it. The ReLIFE experiment, you know a 28 year old man going back to school for a year. a rehab for NEETS, I think it's unique and I like it. Arata mentoring the kids, his friends was very heartwarming and inspiring, you know I think it applies to the observers too, it did to me I'm younger than Arata and I'm also a NEET so I immediately related to the story and many of the scenarios and advice. Reliving his high school life, and staying undercover I thought was amusing and kind of tense, something they should have added was Hishiro finding outKaizaki is an adult, there is more in the manga, but it is hardly present in the anime, there is quite a bit missing actually.
Art and Animation; 5/10: It was good, I liked it. in its 2016 class I think it's better than none.
Soundtrack and Voice acting; 10/10: I really enjoyed the jazzy piano soundtrack, and of course I loved the opening song and the numerous ending songs, I think they fit the main character Kaizaki Arata. The acoustic version of the opening that plays at the end was my favourite, and the ending that plays on episode 15.
I really loved Onoya's Voice, she was very cute, and her sad reactions to Kaizaki and Hishiro were very heartbreaking.
Characters; 10/10: Kaizaki Arata was a very relatable character, so was Hishiro-San. There were lots of moments where I agreed and related to what he had to say to his friends, the advice. it was very interesting to hear all his thoughts and monologues to himself.
Hishiron was a sweet girl, her past was very sad, you know that she gave up on people and her emotions and seeing that she was able to regain all of that because of ReLIFE, her friends and Kaizaki, that too is also very sad. Seeing that great change happen gradually, and seeing her smile and blush genuinely in the final arc was.., well it made me very happy, proud and sad.
I loved Onoya. think we all can relate to Onoya when we're seeing the end of the final arc she really wanted those Two to stay together just like all of us watching did, that especially made me very sad, her reactions were very heartbreaking, especially in the final episode when she saw the pen on Hishiro's hand, I broke down with her right there.
Enjoyment; 8/10: I enjoyed most of it, episodes 8, 9 and 10 was a bad lull for me though, I didn't like that petty quarrel with Tamarai-san and Kariu-san, and it is uncomfortable to watch.
The ending is outstanding, the final arc was very sad to watch, but that was my favourite part, after that bad lull of episodes 8-10, so seeing they were able to remember eachother was very satisfying but sad.
Overall; 9/10: This one is high up on my list, very relatable characters and story, amazing character development, and an emotional heart-wrenching romance.
