Review of ReLIFE
Well, this is my first review so I hope you guys read this. I read a couple of chapters of this manga a while back before the confirmation of the anime but sadly I didn't get to finish it. But when I was about to re-read it i heard there will be an adaptation so I chose that route. I'll be as professional as I can and there will be no bias, I'll just write what I truly feel~ So let's start. Story: 7/10 Good The story isn't really a mind blowing thing but it isn't bad either. It sets you up pretty nicely in the firstepisode so you won't be confused on what's happening. It's more of a kind of slice of life where you watch the characters grow and mature etc. But there is some backstory that I won't get into much in detail, that will make you at least interested.
Art: 7/10 Good
The art isn't outstanding like your other anime shows but it is passable. It has a light hearted feel to it to the colors, designs, etc. but I wish that the animation was a little better because i admit, it does look a little funky sometimes. I gave a plus point because what I adore in this show is the priceless and hilarious reactions which I think the soft art compliments xD
Sound: 6/10 Fair]
I hate to say this, but the sounds in this show isn't one of its strong points. It relies too heavily in piano solos that gets annoying at times. Sometimes it felt more of a noise than a bgm. I wish that it got a little more variety in the music department, but oh well. Originally going to be a 5 but that opening (Button by PenguinResearch) is just too good (only one that I enjoyed tbh)
Characters: 8/10 Good
The characters in ReLife are really a breath of fresh air for some. They are really fun to watch, and their chemistry doesn't feel forced at all. You are guaranteed to at least like one but alas you might hate/dislike some characters, I can name a few but it is all in opinion. Some might relate to other characters because they revolve around school and the struggles of it. But for me personally, Kaizaki's the strong point in this category hehe
Enjoyment 8/10 Very Good
I absolutely enjoyed this series! The comedy is really funny paired with those priceless reactions and their chemistry is a joy to watch. When I first started the first episode I was unable to stop because of how the characters interact with each other makes you wanting more. The first 6 episodes were a blast (mentioned by another reviewer also) but I agree that if fell a little in the latter part (specifically Kariu's arc). It was just so dragged and I really wanted to see Kaizaki but it forced us to watch Kariu's side. I know It might be for fleshing out but it feels forced and unnecessary (in other words: filler like). Sadly, for that gripe I deducted a point from 9 to 8 :<
Overall: 8/10 Very Good
ReLife is an anime that just makes you relaxed and gives a couple of chuckles that can soothe the soul. It has a wide variety of characters that one can enjoy. A believable and unforced chemistry that makes you care about the characters involved, an MC that isn't a girl infused dumbass that you can actually light and serve as a role model, etc. It also has an interesting enough story to make you stick and wonder about things. Sadly the sounds and art can turn people away, I highly suggest giving it a watch. It'll be a good and refreshing experience!
(note: A 4 episode finale is in the works to conclude the story! Quite sad that it won't get a 2nd season considering that the manga is still ongoing, it is still better than none.)
Thank you so much for reading my review I hope to write more reviews in the future~
