Review of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
*This is my first and probably my only review ever, so expect it to be pretty bias at some parts* I'll be honest here and get to the point: I LOVE comedy anime. They are just really fun anime to watch if you want to take a break from really dark and serious anime like Evangelion and Texhnolyze and watch something pretty lighthearted and want to get a laugh out or 2 every once in a while. Then again, this is coming from the person that laughs at a video about a piece of bread falling over, so that might be why I love comedy animea LOT. And Saiki K's no different, and I will tell you why I like this anime so much.
Story: 8/10
The story is quite simple. It's about a teenager named Saiki Kusuo who just lives through life just like everyone else, but there's a twist to this. Saiki K actually has tons of psychic powers like teleportation, mind-reading, and a LOT more, but he actually doesn't want anybody to realise that he actually does have psychic powers, so he barely uses them when anybody is around at all, unless those people aren't paying attention to Saiki at all, so it's mostly just a slice of life anime with the main protagonist having psychic powers, but it's still pretty good.
Art: 10/10
The art for this looks rreally good. Not as good as Berserk or Vagabond, but it still looks really good. I don't really have much else to say about the art other than pretty much everyone looks good in this anime.
Sound: 10/10
The sound for this was really good as well. Almost all of the songs in this anime are really memorable and the openings and endings are really good as well.
Character: 10/10
Other than the comedy, this was the best part about Saiki K. Pretty much everybody in Saiki K has completely different personalities and they're just really fun to see in the anime. Some of the best characters include Kaidou, Teruhashi, Nendou, Toritsuka, Hairo, Kuboyasu, Yumehara, and of course, Saiki.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I absolutely LOVED watching this anime. It was just really funny and nice to watch. There are even a few wholesome moments in Saiki K as well.
Overall: 10/10
This anime was an absolute maaspiece in almost every single way, from the characters to the art, and of course, the comedy, and definetely lived up to my expectations.
Conclusion: So after watching Saiki K, I can say that, without a doubt, you should DEFINITELY watch it as well. It is really enjoyable and it's almost as funny and hilarious as Gintama, and I'm glad I got the chance to watch it. I just hope that season 2 lives up to my expectations as well.
