To summarize; this is the piece of entertainment that I have downloaded onto all of my flash-drives to pop out and watch when I have nothing else to do. This is one the closest things to a perfectly told story that I have found. When I'm depressed, I watch NGNLZ to feel hopeful. When I'm content, I watch NGNLZ to be entertained with spectacular visuals. When I need inspiration, I watch NGNLZ or listen to the phenomenal score to get some. This is one of the only instances in entertainment, not simply anime, that actually brought me to the verge of tears on the firstseveral viewings. So yea, you'll be doing yourself the disservice as a human by not taking to time to watch this.

Moving onto the more technical aspects, NGNLZ has many spectacular visuals and fight scenes for the action junkies, while also having a lot of down to earth, touching moments for those who like to enjoy feeling feelings. The art style is incredibly pleasing to the eye. While I know not everyone is going to adhere to the several genres this film incorporates, it’s easy to look past and enjoy the story.

A really neat aspect of this is that the main story doesn’t require any knowledge of the core show to enjoy. It even has an entirely different feel to it, as someone who has watched through NGNL several time. Meaning you can show it to anyone without having to get them to watch 12 episodes of a show to know which way is up (Other than the unimportant framing device).

The only thing I can say that I actually found negative was the fact that many aspects weren’t made immediately clear (time-skips, etc.) that weren’t really clear without reading the light novel. As well as the fact they had to skip over a lot of world-building to get the run-time, but the flow is so good it’s entirely excusable.

So yea, watch it.
