NOTE: i rank part 5 of jojo alone here, no other parts will be taken into account. I do give away some spoilers in my review, but nothing critical for the enjoyment of the big story. It has become apparent to me, that jojo no longer has anything to do with what it originally was about. I never liked most of the stand battles, and especially in this part they have gotten way too complex. The episodes usually always try to come up with some ultra clever and unpredictable solution for every fight sometimes they even have multiple of these solutions before one of them actuallydecides to work, but personally I don't usually end up impressed; I find that more often than not I end up thinking to myself: wow, that conclusion was complete bullshit! Modern jojo is really just about two guys trying to kill each other with a WAY too wide array of unique abilities, modern jojo is the very definition of maximalism.

I must also add that I think that this part in particular, has some really flawed moral issues. Our protagonists are constantly attacked by these hitmen, who actually shares the same goal as the protagonists, as they try to figure out the big boss's identity so that they can defeat him. But the protagonist's all end up killing off the entire squad of these people who have the same goal as they do. Now, it is obviously self-defense, and I would undoubtably have done the same thing if I were in the same situation, but here is the thing: there is no reason why the roles couldn't have been reversed so that the hitmen would be the protagonists, and Bucciarati's gang the antagonist's. The hitmen squad have done some very awful things, but so has Bucciarati's gang, such as when Naranchia blew up a lot of cars, or Giorno turned a lot of cars into a bunch of frogs, or when the gang hijacked a plane and crashed it, along with the Notorious-big/Notorious-chase into the sea where it would forever terrorize any sailors who would cross its path and possibly costing dozens their lives. Bucciarati's gang aren't any better than their average enemies. And it isn't just the hitmen squad either, Squalo and Tiziano were also antagonists whose only sin was that they followed orders from their corrupt boss, the same as Bucciarati's gang was doing in the first half of the part. there are no good guys in this part, there is only one shared villain. I found myself sometimes root for the bad guys instead of the good guys, especially when it really seemed like they were going to win, and then the good guys come up with one bullshit solution that relied on mostly plot armor to even work, it wasn't a very good feeling.

I am personally a fan of the old jojo. Before stands. Back when the story would get to the point and not waste my time with, irrelevant filler episode's about defeating mostly insignificant enemies, this part even acknowledges how insignificant its characters are. One example of this is Notorious-big/Notorious-chase, as it was left undefeated, and still out there (and yes, I know this is the second time I am talking about Notorious-big/Notorious-chase, but DAMN I really hated that episode).

I should have stopped watching jojo after watching stardust crusaders. Every part of jojo has just kept getting worse since battle tendency (in my opinion), and now, after watching part 5, I have finally decided that I am done with jojo
