This is where the story and artstyle of baki really start to turn into what it is today. The story shifts quite a bit, from reaching and defeating Yuujiro, -who is still a core character in every baki part- to exploring the age old question of What would happen if a kung-fu master fought a war veteran? or what if the cruelest most evil prisoners were to fight the strongest yakuza in all of Japan? These questions -although one might say are childish- are explored in a very dedicated, educated way. and the story really spends quite a significant amount of time describing the amount ofhard-work, dedication and ingenuity that people who spend their lives training martial arts need.

Therefore, if you are a fan of martial arts and want to learn more about them, or just like seeing buff martial artist go at it until near-death this manga is a must for you.
