Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
No movie, no tv show, no song, no documentary, no anime has EVER made me cry before... but Anohana did. This anime takes character development to the next level while touching on so many themes: death of a loved one, adolescence, growing up, repairing broken friendships/ relationships, and appearance/reputation. Anohana encompasses all of these themes while engaging us in the story through its diverse cast of characters. You have the popular kid, the girl who tries to fit in and worries about popularity, the outcast, the funny, the broken, etc. Anohana packs so much into one show without feeling bogged down, and it all works beautifully. Theshow carries so much weight, so much feeling and momentum that all bursts into the ending with such emotional power. I wish I could erase this show from my mind so I could re-experience watching it for the first time.
Please watch this show. It's my favorite of all time. 10/10
