Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion

I decided to watch this one day because, I had no reason to NOT watch one of the most popular animes of all time. I had no expectations, I knew people regarded this very highly but, still had no idea what to expect It is great, but I only say that because I can get into weird shit done right. Evangelion is definitely peculiar, and it is definitely done right. From the beginning of the show, I often caught myself say, "Wtf". It start out mostly lighthearted and slowly, by the end of the show, turned into a shocked and EXTREMELY FUCKING CONFUSED, "...bro wtf". but...I canstill say this shit was fucking PEAK. I genuinely will watch this shit again

Just the general idea/premise of the show is crazy, and they REALLY sell it, insanity and all. This show will make you feel damn near every emotion. It actually requires an education to explain this show and how it makes one feel, I already know there are countless, hour long, documentary/video essays on this shit, for good reason

Someone who knows nothing about this show, and just thinks it's a mech anime, is going to spit take if they aren't careful. This show WILL catch you off guard, I don't think there's any preparation, you will simply WILL BE SURPRISED

all in all, memorable characters, memorable story(even if I was left with questions because I got lost at one point), great action but, it honestly takes a bit of a backseat.

I only recommend if you are looking for some ridiculous shit, or you're just watching all the popular shit you've missed out on
