This is the main storyline that feels like it should be the spinoff, not railgun. After watching railgun 1, I realize that this show is inferior in nearly every single way, so let's go through it all. Story: 7/10 Look, this story is really good at its best, and an absolute drag at its worst, but luckily at least everything feels like it kind of connects relatively smoothly. My real issue is with how one-dimensional it is. Random magician chases index, he punches them, gg, repeat. That alone is fine, but then on top of that, the villains are really all the same, and they all enterthe series the same way. They just kinda come out of nowhere and attack them, and then 3 episodes later they lose and it is all over, not that complicated. There is no bigger villain, no bigger picture, just a bunch of relatively meh villains, but at least the whole magic vs science thing is cool, which saves this whole thing and makes it a 7 instead of a 5, because it at least strings it all together somewhat.

Art: 6/10
I know this show is from a while ago, but Railgun from not too long after looks so much better than this one. Everything is pretty average, and Misaka and Kuroko look below average, especially when compared to the improvements made to their designs in railgun.

Sound: 6/10
Unmemorable at best. Intro is not too bad, and the outros are ok. That's literally it.

Character: My real dilemma lies here. There are awesome characters like Kuroko, Misaka, and Accelerator who are all heavily diminished because of two glaring issues, Touma and Index. Touma sucks, he is basic, boring, and so one-dimensional it's insane, but at least he is kind of funny which is alright. Index is just lost potential, she is useless, but at least she is funny too. Misaka is good in this show, but I feel like her character could have appeared more to make the story more interesting. Kuroko has the same issue as Misaka. Accelerator especially, he had like 6 episodes total, and one like 2 or 3 ep arc which was the best arc of the show. He was the best character in Index, but he got so little time. The issue with the characters is that every character but the two main ones are either good or great, but they are so underutilized I want to rip my hair out.

Enjoyment: 5/10
The show does everything so basic that I wanna rip my eyes out. I look at it and I know it isn't bad, because I really like everything with the not two main characters, but they just are all underutilized, and Touma and Index just could be better than they are.

Overall: 6/10
The show is aight, but I just couldn't bring myself to give it any better. I will say it is above average, but not by a lot.
