This is a really nice, cute, & simple story that had elements I really enjoyed (protective shielding hands over eyes, bffs leaning back to back) and needed (a MC female whose character is credible, dignified, and Not a crybaby). There are so many stories out there that just tell me that two characters are best friends; whereas there are actualy signs of it here, and flashbacks and a childhood photobook (!!! ❤️) There were some times when I thought that the MC male should've been gentler, but I think it was more of the mangaka's way of showing that Kaede grew up to bea strong man, and not intending that he was too physically rough with Rii.
