As a whole this show is a good time. The characters are phenomenal, and their lives are a lot of fun to watch. Elda is such a treat to watch, she’s one of those elf characters that make us as humans really contemplate our mortality. She has moments of pure “I’m baby” type energy, but then next she’s going really deep into human mortality and it somehow balances really well. Koito is a great opposite of Elda as we see her navigate growing up, her duties as a shrine maiden, and her relationship with Elda. The other characters that do show up complement eachgreatly and are a lot of fun. This show is heavily slice of life, but it always feels like we are going somewhere. It’s the same antics, but there is growth for the characters. Elda gives lots of facts about Old Japan throughout the show, and it’s not because she read about it but because she lived through it and it adds layers that wouldn’t be there otherwise.

This show doesn’t do anything groundbreaking, but it does make for a really good time. Highly recommend it for folks looking for something simple that doesn’t need a lot of thinking.
