I will always recommend this story to those who want to see a tale about beating the odds. The friendships that develop not only between Bari and Young, but all of the characters, are something I will never forget :] While a story about ascension, as well as one about getting rid of bad luck and family curses, is not something new, I think that How to Become a Dragon does a wonderful job at telling it. I adore Young's straightforwardness, as well as Bari's genuine desire to see the good in everyone. Friendships are forged, as well as some even being lost. Not out ofa tragic death, but an acceptance of one's own mistakes.

I think that the best way to tell if you'll like this story is to read it yourself, but I personally think that it's wonderful.
