I wasn't too sure if I'd recommend this manga to others, though in the end I think it is worth the read. The story of a little girl who moved to a seaside town, Mermaid scales has me, personally, feeling mixed. Don't get me wrong the story is fantastic and when it shines it shines, the ending is satisfying and doesn't lock the reader into feeling the answer of mermaids not being real is fully the truth. However, some of the side stories get rather abrupt and weird endings, the story about the mother coming out of absolutely no where from start to finish andsort of took away from the big arc of the story.

It wasn't amazing, but I wouldn't dare call it average either.
