Skool of Street · review
Before, I used to think that all dancing was tiktok cringe. Now I recognise the sophisticated intricacies of choreographed movement. In all seriousness, this is a fantastic manhwa that should be up there among the greats. Not only does it have great art that elegantly conveys dynamic dance movement, but it is written really well, proven by how if you asked me before if I liked the concept of dance it would be a hell no, but not anymore. This manhwa just makes street dance look so much fun, and even though the story can be classified into the "sports" genre, the author tries hisbest to stray away from typical character tropes and insert his own flair, even adding themes of k-pop/idol culture as well. Speaking of the author, if you find him on instagram, you would find that he is actually cracked at dance, and you can sense his passion emanating through the art and characters.
If I can have one gripe with the manhwa, it would be that the story structure is essentially a tournament arc followed by another tournament arc followed by another tournament arc. While it doesn't detract from the story and character quality, and doesn't get boring yet, I hope the manhwa can expand into other territories to make its already in-depth take on dance even more in-depth.
