Shiba Inu Rooms · review
Shiba Inu Rooms, or Shibatsuki Bukken, is a really heartwarming series about a girl moving to this haunted apartment building. But, the ghosts that are inhabiting the building? Shiba Inus. And we follow Kori (the aforementioned girl) as she deals with the shenanigans of living with Mu (the dog that haunts Kori's apartment) and others who also live in the apartment. And there is also the fact of which tgus series also has other, non shiba inu related ghosts things that we get to see throughout the serialization of this series. The reason why I rate this series so high is because of the way themangaka executes the story. It's a lot more of an "episodic" styled story. What I mean is, though you DO need to read every chapter to understand what's going on, it's a lot more "wholesome" of a story that you can turn off your brain to enjoy reading.
As for the recurring characters that aren't our protagonists, I just love them on paper. The other SHiba Inu owners, flawed they may be as owners, you can tell that they love their fluff balls. Even the lady who runs the building has some.
The saddest thing about the manga is when one of the dogs assents to the afterlife. This is said early on in the manga to happen, and we see it happen twice (so far, from memory).
Overall, if you're looking for a good read (just for cuteness, or just because of wanting to read something in the shonen category that's more than just battles, I would highly recommend reading it.
