3.1/10 “If I ignore it long enough, then the readers will definitely forget!” No. No, author, you created one of the most half-assed introductions into any manga, and it’s not something to easily brush by without any explanations — what I’m referring to is the characters and their actions. The characters exhibit some of the most ridiculous and baffling actions from the lack of explanations the author adds to the story; at one moment, the mc meets his idol, and the next moment the idol willingly comes to his house. Why him? Well, I’m not so sure either. Seemingly, I was second guessing if there weresome missing pages or chapters, but this manga is just that unexplained and bad.

Certainly, this creates a lot of negative side effects: The characters are hard to attach to, the plot is made idiotic, and every development resembles a “self-insert.” To add to this, there are nonessential, disposable character cliches that don’t do anything for the story — childhood friend.

You know the YouTube videos of “expert reacts to ___ movie’s realism?” Well, this is how I felt while reading this fitness romcom — it’s hard to call this a fitness manga. To put it bluntly, most of the research or incorporations of the author’s fitness knowledge is completely wrong and somewhat off putting. It also does not help that it’s not even fun to read, since it’s an info-dump each and every chapter.

This manga is as if the author is so detached from reality and the basic core components of any romcom’s story, and it’s not a fun thing to read. Even if you aren’t triggered by the myths and blatantly wrong fitness advice, there’s no explanation, there’s no reason, and there’s no flow in dialogue/action this-is manga has in any of the characters.

PS: I’ve had this review ready for 5 months waiting for this manga to get verified. Wherever Takutore is, I do not care; I am its number one hater at this point.
