Asadora! · review
Quite disappointed to see people giving Asadora! lower ratings than what it truly deserves. If any of you have read other works of Naoki Urasawa (Arguably the Greatest mangaka of this generation & all-time) like MONSTER & 20th Century Boys, you will know he starts things off a bit slow and it takes a while for him to set everything up perfectly for the story to become a masterpiece worthy title. The first few pages of Asadora! immediately hooks you as you see Tokyo Olympics 2020 in shambles after a monster attack. Then we jump back to 1959 from where the main story starts. It'sa very interesting setup as we follow Asa the main character and see her grow up and how her story will connect to what we saw happening in the first 4 pages. It's basically a coming of age story and starts off slow in the first few chapters but it gets more and more interesting as you read. Uraswa's art is immaculate, it's clean and beautiful and a treat to the eyes. Asa and Kasuga are some very well written characters. From start to the current chapters I have enjoyed it immensely.
