Review of ReLIFE

Just completed binge watching the entire season of ReLIFE and I have to say it... this anime had a lot of potential to go somewhere... but didn't. The characters are very good and they all have lives of their own. They live and breathe and that's really not a strong point for a lot of animes. So many animes just fall flat and regurgitate the same character types over and over - but not ReLIFE. Unfortunately though - the makers seriously blew it around episodes 7-10. They tried too hard to make this anime "mean" something by putting in darker life elements.That they turn it back around for the final 3 episodes was a little too late. The damage was already done.

There's a small twist at the end but nothing out of the ordinary but it does make you feel for the characters involved. The creators should have done more with this part of the storyline before the last 10 minutes of the season. It definitely leaves you hanging but it also makes you wonder why they bothered with the first part half of the episode.

Is it enjoyable to watch? Yes - but you'll have to force yourself through a couple of episodes in the 7-10 area to get back to the good stuff.

Overall I give ReLIFE a 7 - but it could easily have been a 10 if they had better direction.
