Review of Tsukigakirei
Tsuki ga Kirei is a hidden gem that I think is under appreciated. I had never heard of this show until a few days ago when I saw it under a tearjerker category on Crunchyroll/VRV and it immediately caught my attention. While I did not really find this show to be a tearjerker. It was still an amazing and enjoying watch. The story is very slow, and while this would normally be a huge turnoff for me... it added to adolescent and small scale story that it was going for. Tsuki ga Kirei seems to truly tell a story of young love and the complication thatcan come with that. While also showing the difficulties that come from our two main protagonist's personalities.
The only downsides to show were the animations, and the music.
It had loads of CGI background characters that it could of gone without that just took away from the very beautiful stills and backgrounds. There were some very choppy animations at times that could not go unnoticed. If you can get past those two things though, the art is wonderful and very appealing.
The music they had was really good, but they did not have much in the way of OSTs. They did not really need any exciting climatic songs, but they should of at least had some kind of slow peaceful or maybe inner turmoil kind of song.
Despite those two things. I think Tsuki ga Kirei is great watch! The show was so good that I was almost able to look past these two flaws, that would normally be huge negatives, and consider it a masterpiece.
