One of the most interesting things about science fiction is the way it evolves alongside real life science and technology. This is a film from 1933 that predicted: World War 2, magnetic trains, helicopters, and the automation of labor. It also predicted commercial space travel, laser cannons, and the Magic TV, a machine capable of bringing ghosts back to life, operated by a rotary dial. And I'm pretty sure they flew past Jupiter on their way to Mars. Anyways this film is a charming and fascinating window into people's predictions for the future from nearly 100 years ago. It's definitely worth 10 minutes of your time.
