Stein's Gate has been in my top 5 anime list solidly ever since I watched it years ago. The emotions, suspense, and excitement I got after watching the original series was uncomparable and I'm pretty sure for a large population as it is the third highest ranked anime of all time on this site. So the bar was set really high for the second season - "Stein's Gate 0". However, watching this series did not give me the ecstatic feelings like I used to feel from Stein's Gate. So what was different? It truly woke me up how important the characters were in the original series.This second season felt dry without Kurisu and felt like something was missing. Also Mayuri being distressed and sad made me feel depressed too, in comparison to the original where she was so bubbly with (TooTooRoo). Okabe being weak,down only made it worse. I get that , the fact that he and others being depressed is like one of the premises of the second season. But couldn't they summon Hououin Kyouma earlier like mid way and pump this series up? Only giving him one episode at the very end really wasn't valuable in my opinion. It's crazy how I felt like I was watching the old Stein's gate and super pumped in that single episode alone. The new characters did not give me satisfaction too, Maho , Leskinen, Kagari,and Amadeus were the main ones. Maho,Kagari,and Leskinen simply just annoyed me 80% of the time they were shown. They were boring,irritating characters that were hard to bond with and feel affection for. Also, I feel they were there just for the sake of being there.

Amadeus was okay but I feel they could have developed her a lot more considering how important she is to this series.

I really enjoyed the music and pacing of the series though as the first season is infamous for being super slow at the start. In this series, almost every episode has something going on. Don't get me wrong, this series was really good too but just different from what I wanted/visualized it to be. I just feel it could have been better.
