This is compulsory watching before you watch season 3, and that's partly why it's so frustrating. This is a good movie by all accounts. It follows the same skimming over things at a speedy pace as the last two Hibike! movies but the problem with that in this case is those other two movies were recaps of actual seasons of TV, whereas this is just a movie. This means that it feels so incomplete, frustrating and disappointing, mainly because this is Kumiko's second year of high school and all we get is a movie and OVA and a movie about one of her seniors... Whereasher first year of high school got two seasons of TV! I feel cheated that her second year of high school wasn't allowed the same breathing room as her first. And we don't even really get to see much of Natsuki 😭. I'm glad they are giving her third year a whole season but I'm very sad that we had to rush to get there.
