Review of Dororo

ah, here we are. i've wanted to dive into an analysis of this anime for quite some time now. SPOILER FREE. story - 9 the bone of the story isnt the most original per say.. yet its satisfying through and through from beginning to end.. if you get around to the morbid aspects and find it uncomfortable i dont blame you.. yet for me the story and how the main characters convictions are well thought out and put on display was simply amazing.. i graded it a 9 and not a 10 for one simple fact.. it seems like everyone in this anime had agps implanted in their bodies.. while this clearly isnt a deal breaker youll see what i mean.. and while unrealistic in many facets it still gets the job done 10 times over.. thats just me being picky. great story great concepts.

art - 9
honestly the same principle applies to the art as so does the story.. near perfect.. just not perfect.. ya know? i find it to be suitable and i held out until this portion to discuss the fight scenes because when i tell you the fight choreography is STUNNING that word doesnt even do it justice... everything from wingspan reach and real world martial arts (with some fantasy aspects obv) is considered and well done. my oh my everytime hyiakkimaru faught it was must see tv. ill continue on this note in the very next section but the art from opening 1 is some serious stuff.. honestly riveting. bravo bravo

sound - 10
im a sound junkie as it pertains to anime and im gonna be plain honest.. the sound is the ENTIRE reason im writing this review. the opening 1 song is BY FAR the most criminally underrated opening ive ever heard.. its up beat... it sets the bar and tone AND is just one of the most aesthetically pleasing openings ive laid my eyes on.. i feel like i almost HAVE to get the word out on it.. seriously. besides that the in betweens and what not every sound and tone setter placed in this anime fits the scene and captures the essence of said dialogue or battle.. it truly compliments the anime like few ive seen.. up there with the likes of AOT and cowboy bebop.. well done again very very pleasing sound track

character - 8
weakest part of the show imo which isnt saying much since im still in love with the anime alltogether. very basic character development that starts out actually really promising and by all means the character development between the two MC's is MORE than sufficient but its the few side characters that show inconsistencies and contradictions.. although the old blind priest is such a good glue side character that ill appreciate for quite some time. bravo again

enjoyment/overall - 9

i tend to ramble if you havent noticed just yet so ill keep it short and sweet when i say if you can deal with 0 fan service, a thought provoking storyline with sometimes minimal dialogue and masterful fight scenes in a well thought out world with mysteries galore DING DING DING we have a winner! in hindsight i didnt really sell it to my best ability but between brutal honesty and bias i have a happy medium of appreciation for this anime.. it really is one HALF STEP below masterpiece i justr cant bring myself to give it that much credit but for what its worth this anime is underrated.com . thanks for coming to the ted talk go watch DORORO TONIGHT!
