Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 continues the adventures of Kazuma and his odd bunch of misfits as they encounter more royalty, nobility, and drama of their own. Kazuma develops a suspiciously criminal sister complex, Aqua indulges irresponsibly in heavy alcoholism, Darkness contributes to her masochistic self-loathing, and Megumin struggles to stay upright after her super flashy one-hit-wonder "Explosion!" Story & Character: 8/10 It's difficult to develop a cohesive plot while managing a plethora of characters who don't take their lives seriously, especially after three seasons. KONOSUBA III does well to stay relevant by not dwelling on small details for too long. The story continues asa sitcom-style narrative with comedy-first elements that keep it refreshing. Although the story deviates at several stages to set the premise for the next episodic adventure, it feels seamless and the comical nature isn't sacrificed.

Character development hasn't always been the best aspect of KONOSUBA because it draws on the already established stereotypes of each main character. This time around, the stereotypes are intensified, with each character indulging in more unhinged activities that test the patience of everyone around them. Despite the shenanigans, each character gets a moment in the spotlight, exposing their vulnerable sides under a segment of absurd and offensive comedy. Side characters feel especially involved this time around, with their relationships being developed alongside Kazuma and his clique. It was great to see specific nobility and royalty playing a more active role in the series with body swaps, noble thievery, and arranged marriages alike.

Art & Sound: 7/10
The KONOSUBA art style is iconic within the community, and this season does it justice by building on it with absurdity. The animation lacks in many scenes but is easily counteracted with the large variation of different super-deformed character art styles. The slow burn and delayed movement add a lot of buildup and awkwardness that make KONOSUBA an iconic comedy.

In terms of sound design, KONOSUBA does well with the thematic use of soundtracks. The dramatic and comical soundtracks overlap many times in the series to break emotional tension. The intricately timed audio cues and voice acting make this season's sound design just as good as its predecessors. I personally enjoyed more of the falling-apart dialogue that Aqua usually expresses, which I rarely saw this season.

Overall & Enjoyment: 8/10
I can't be caught glazing too hard without discussing a few shortcomings - The story felt fast-paced in the sense that it didn't dwell too long on a certain scene or topic. In terms of comedy, it helps to have a shifting narrative so the comic effect doesn't stale, but in plot development, it felt very rushed. There were loose ends involving side characters that weren't revisited, often left on a comedic note and not revisited, like Dust and his macho photographer. Apart from that, I enjoyed KONOSUBA 3 a lot more than I was expecting. Aqua being an irresponsible alcoholic has got to be the most authentic character representation in modern anime.
