Even So, I Still Want to Be Your Boyfriend Tomorrow. · review
What a bizarre but sad situation. This is watching paint dry and listening to moans in the background: the manga. I wanted to lead with "Katsura Airi for poor people" or something close to that since Miike Kei was their assistant for another work. It is one thing to look up to someone and maybe follow their example. It is a whole nother thing to try and become them and ride a wave to easy success. This is just plain embarrassing. This work is NTR first and foremost just like Katsura Airi's forte. It mostly reads like the other manga adaption that the both of them workedtogether on.
It did branch out after a while and was something more. Characters were given some complexity and the relationship chaos had some substance to it with some nice mystery surrounding the main female lead.. well, that has been gone for a while now.
This is pure NTR hentai trash. Magic godly intervention that changes skills in bed, sizes of privates and whole feelings in the span of panels, over and over and over. You're waiting for some explanations or reveals but there simply is nothing to it but "I am a crazy sex addicted whore that lies as she breathes and actually cheats cuz"- that is what the author actually went for and not my imagination or wording. Running a series into a wall and ruining it could be an olympic sport and this would be a contender for gold.
Girl acts completely out of character in situations that the story needs them to? Check. Suddenly random cheating on repeat with no writing around it? Check. Unbalanced powerlevels across the board (e.g. one guy suddenly turns into god and makes her go unconcious or she has an elaborate cheating underground setup that didn't come up in 34 chapters or rando ugly fatty is still on her mind)? Check. Rape being gratified and normalized? Check.
Googling 5 seconds will give you an infinite amount of better written works with infinitely better art and scenes.
Don't read. This is a piss poor attempt at being someone else and failing miserably. Going hardcore when shit doesn't stick is cringe. The female lead is absolutely not enjoyable. The male lead is the only redeeming feature but he is conveniently gimped by perma asspull drama so that also falls flat.
