Must Read for those who enjoyed the manga and anime alike. This single light novel volume serves as a prequel to the story we are presented in both the manga and anime, going back to when Will and Elfaria first enrolled into the academy. It covers alot of explanation about the magic system and the world's fundamentals that were left out of the manga (understandably so), but most importantly, shows us some of the character's past and backstories aswell as major events that happened earlier on between Will and Elfaria. Astounding writing quality that answered alot of my questions left behind by the manga. The author himselfsaid that its ok whichever order you read first, but in my opinion I heavily recommend reading the light novel prequel before starting on the main series, since this LN volume is complementary to the main story in the manga.
