Review of Dan Da Dan
The more anime I watch, the more I question my sanity. How does a story involving fighting ghosts and aliens, result in a Shonen with Romantic undertones based on the premise of retrieving the male MC's LITERAL BALLS? On top of that, why do I think it's SOOO GOOD!? Dandadan is the prime example of embracing the absurd and I'm all here for it. Obviously, I jumped on the hype train having absolutely no idea where it's going. Is it going to take me places or fall off sending me straight into the depths of depravity? WHO KNOWS! I wouldn't blame people who saw thefirst episode and expected some crazy stuff but not going Freaky Grandma and "Give me your BANANA" crazy! However, watching a few more episodes, this show has a vibe, and I love it. The soundtrack is amazing, and I love both the OP (Creepy Nuts Never Miss) and ED are amazing and embrace the absurd through the music. The animation is consistently good and stands out when it needs to.
I love the chemistry of both Momo and Ken (Okarun). While the plot is not yet fully formed, I know that it will keep taking us on a roller coaster with "BALLS" TO THE WALLS action. And it's not just that, I was under the assumption that this was gonna just be a weird shonen just with amazing fight scenes but after watching more it is the perfect sample of a little bit of everything. It is the perfect example of controlled chaos. I'd say watch the first 3 episodes. Compared to most anime, it's a bit unconventional so if you can't get over the first episode, then I can't help you.
If you like fast paced fight scenes, comedy, romance, and hard-hitting scenes, you should watch it. I am all in for this fast-paced insane Shonen/Romance so if you want to hop on the Banana bus, I got an open seat for you...
