Review of Lazarus
I won’t really be too detailed about this review, but I will say this is an enjoyable show, despite being very flawed. It tries to tackle many grand ideas in each episode regarding humanity and our existence and does manage to make you as a viewer think about them. But despite the interesting topics touched on this show, the execution is so hollow you don’t really that satisfied. The main issue is the clusterfuck that is the pacing. Each episode touches on a flaw of humanity and makes you truly question whether our existence is justified but there is simply not enough time dedicated tothe ideas to make you go beyond the surface level as it simply feels like the show throws the idea at your face without giving you a chance to process it. It also doesn’t help that the overall premise promises a sense of urgency your only given crumbs of the overarching plot each episode, basically making you feel blue-balled for 80% of the watch time. This show would have benefited from a longer longer deadline till the end of the world scenario and more episodes to properly flesh out everything.
Because as the show currently stands, it’s a good show that is enjoyable, but it leaves you feeling dissatisfied as it consistently fails to reach its full potential.
